Baseball game with the Brothers!

This Wednesday night we will be meeting at 6:30pm at the Main St entrance to Slugger Field. We will be watching the Louisville Bats take on the Charlotte Knights. The game begins at 7:05pm. This will be the last event Bros. John, Jordan, and John Mark will be joining us for (because they leave Louisville on Thursday). Come say farewell with us!

Holy hour and hiking trip

First, we have the holy hour on Wednesday night. During the holy hour, Br. Jordan, OP will speak on the “Jorrowful Mysteries”. We will likely have confessions offered during the holy hour, and to close holy hour we will (hopefully) sing Compline. Holy hour starts at 7pm, and please enter the church from the south (handicap) entrance (the other doors will be locked).

Second, we will be going hiking at Jefferson Memorial Forest this Saturday. Please be at St. Louis Bertrand by 8:00am! Fr. Gorman, OP will offer Mass on the hike. On the hike, we will be accompanied by Fr. Gorman and the Dominican brothers (Brs. John, Jordan, and John Mark). The anticipated distance of the hike will be 6 miles. The anticipated duration of the hike will be 3 hours. We will return to St. Louis Bertrand around 2-3pm. You will need to bring food and water for the hike. Saturday’s high is predicted to be around 88 degrees, so keep that in mind. If you have any questions, please let me know!

Holy hour, a talk by Br John, OP, and Shakespeare in the Park on Friday

Wednesday, July 15 – Come listen to a talk given by one of the Dominican brothers who are visiting and staying at St. Louis Bertrand this summer.  The speaker will be Br. John, OP and the topic is the glorified (resurrected) body.  This will be in the context of a holy hour in the church, and confessions are likely to be offered.  This will begin at 7:00pm.
Friday, July 17 – Join us as we attend Shakespeare in the Park’s performance of Macbeth.  Meet at St. Louis Bertrand at 6:30pm.  We will have a short introduction to the play by Br. Jordan Zajac, OP, who earned his doctorate on Shakespearean Drama from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.  We will then walk to Central Park from St. Louis Bertrand.  The food trucks begin at 7:00pm, there is a pre-show performance at 7:15pm, and the Macbeth performance begins at 8:00pm.
