Jason and Michelle Copperwaite to speak on marriage, Wed, 9-30

This Wednesday, September 30th, Jason and Michelle Copperwaite will join us for a talk on marriage.  The Copperwaites have been happily married for 16 years.  Feel free to bring snacks and a drink while we listen to their talk!

 

For a look ahead of future events….

October 7:  This week’s topic will be “Our Lady of the Rosary” in honor of her feast day on October 7th. The feast of Our Lady of the Rosary (formerly, “Our Lady of Victory”) is the anniversary of the decisive victory of the Holy League in 1571 at the Battle of Lepanto over the Ottoman Turks.  Join us at 7pm in the parish center.

October 14: We will be joining LYC at the Pub Night for a panel of Catholic converts talking about their conversion stories.  Pub Night starts at 7:00pm and is held at Saints bar in St. Matthews.

October 21: Fr. Joseph-Mary Hertzog O.P. will be giving us a talk called “Finding Your Mate.”  Please join us for this talk on dating at 7pm in the parish center.

October 28: Come to our All Saints Party!  Bring a biography of a saint to share with the group and a dish to pass around. Join us at 7pm in the parish center.

 

 

Faith and Culture Lecture Series – Fr. Joseph-Mary Hertzog, O.P.

loveofjesuschrisFr. Joseph-Mary Hertzog, OP is presenting a series of lectures that explore contemporary issues in marriage and sexuality from a Catholic perspective in the  months of September, October, and November, entitled “Love & Responsibility.”

The dates and topics are listed below, along with the flyer for the series.  All talks begin at 7:00pm.

“God and His Image: The Catholic Vision of the Human Person” – Monday, September 14th, 2015.

“Men, Women, and the Mystery of Love” – Monday, September 28th, 2015.

“On the Meaning of Sex” – Monday, October 12th, 2015.

“What is Marriage?  Man and Woman: A Defense” – Monday, October 26th, 2015.

“Catholic Teaching on the Generation of Human Life” – Monday, November 9th, 2015.

“Family as School of Love & Character” – Monday, November 23rd, 2015.

All talks will be held in O’Brien Hall on the third floor of the parish center at St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church.

Presentation and talk on Bl Pier Giorgio Frassati by Dcn Franco Cottrell

This Wednesday, September 23rd, Deacon Franco Cottrell will give us a presentation and talk on Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, including his new miracle.  Join us at 7pm in the parish center.  Feel free to bring snacks and drinks, if you want!

Deacon Cottrell is a permanent deacon for the Archdiocese of Louisville and is currently assigned to St. Christopher Parish in Radcliff, KY.

Bl. Pier Giorgio was a member of the Third Order of St. Dominic and an Italian Catholic social activist.  He is patron of students, Catholic Action, World Youth Day, and Dominican tertiaries.  He was beatified in 1990 by JPII.

 

Talk on the Dominican Laity – Tonight

Have you ever wondered, “What are the Dominican Laity? What do they do? Isn’t the Dominican Laity just for really holy people?”

Come join us this Wednesday (9/16 – tonight!) for a talk and discussion by members of the Dominican Laity themselves. Bring your questions and learn why the Dominican Laity may be for you too!
