Have yourself a wonderful Thanksgiving, and we’ll see you next week, for our Advent holy hour (with the opportunity for confession to start Advent off right!) and then we’ll head over to Impellizzeri’s on West Main!
A look ahead…
Wednesday, December 2nd: There will be an Advent Holy Hour at 7pm in the church with a priest available for hearing confessions. Following the holy hour we will be going to Impellizzeri’s Pizza (Downtown location, 110 West Main Street).
Wednesday, December 9th: We will be attending “Beneath the Same Sky: A Vatican Astronomer and a Civil War General Speak to Louisville About the Heavens”, a special event hosted at the Louisville Free Public Library (Main Branch) at 7:00pm. Br. Guy Consolmagno, SJ, Director of the Vatican Observatory will discuss his work in astronomy. See this page for more details!
Wednesday, December 16th: Join us for our yearly White Elephant Christmas Party! The party will begin at 7:00pm in the Frassati Room on the second floor of the parish building. More details to come.
Wednesday, December 23rd: No Meeting (Merry Christmas!).
Thursday, December 31st: Ring in the New Year right, as Christ in the City and St. Louis Bertrand Young Adults host the 2016 Young Adults New Year’s Eve Bash and Midnight Mass (you can RSVP on the Facebook event!). Starting at 8:00pm on December 31st, the bash will be held in O’Brien Hall of the parish center (3rd floor). Food, drinks, and various activities will be available, but feel free to bring your own. Following the bash, at 11:45pm, we will head to the church for a beautiful candlelit a capella Midnight Mass, celebrated by Fr. Joseph-Mary Hertzog, OP. The Te Deum will also be sung in thanksgiving for favors granted in 2015 before Mass, with the Veni Creator sung after Mass. Since the Mass will be on January 1, this will fulfill the obligation for the Solemnity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. If you have any questions or would like to participate/practice for the Te Deum or Veni Creator, please e-mail Trevor Mahoney (trevor[dot]mahoney[at]uwalumni[dot]com).
St Louis Bertrand Young Adults is a group of Catholic young adults aged 18-35 in Louisville, KY who meet each week at St Louis Bertrand Catholic Church to socialize and grow in their Faith.
