Monthly Archives: January 2016

Christ in the City Friday, Jan 29, 7pm, with schedule for February

unnamedThis Friday, January 29th, Christ in the City will meet at the Little Sisters of the Poor (15 Audubon Plaza Drive) for the monthly holy hour with confession at 7:00pm.  Fr. Stuart Priddy, currently assisting the parishes of the Pax Christi Collaborative, will preside at the holy hour.  After the holy hour, we will go to Chili’s Grill and Bar in the plaza next to Little Sisters.

With the Catholic Church celebrating the Year of Mercy, we especially would recommend taking advantage of the Sacrament of Confession. Whether you partake in Confession frequently, or haven’t had Confession in a long time, this is a great opportunity to experience God’s loving mercy and forgiveness with Christ present in the Eucharist. Read this great article by Fr. Zuhlsdorf to help prepare you for the sacrament of Confession!

Feel free to RSVP to the Facebook event at this link!

Tonight at 7pm! Br Peter Totleben, OP on The Mass and the Meaning of Life

244836547_25a1dcb1c6_mCome join other members of the parish tonight as we listen to a talk by Br Peter Totleben, OP.  The topic?  The Mass and the Meaning of Life.  What is the point of life?  How do we live it to the full?

The answer – surprising as it may seem – is the sacrifice of the Mass.  Come hear Br. Peter Totleben, O.P. talk about why the Mass is a sacrifice, and how offering that sacrifice changes the entire meaning of our lives.

The talk will begin at 7:00pm in O’Brien Hall.  This talk is a part of the regular “Faith and Culture” series that has been on-going.

As a side note, you might remember Br Peter from when he was assigned here for the summer a few years ago with Br Raymund.  Also, Br Peter will be ordained to the priesthood on March 19th, 2016 at 10:00am at St. Patrick’s Church in Columbus, OH.  Join us in praying for him!
